We are looking for a Linux System Administrator to maintain an environment consisting of Linux servers. The person needs to be a quick learner with a positive attitude and willingness to work with a flexible schedule and play multiple roles in a start-up environment.

You'll need to be a devops sysadmin par excellence, with a passion for repeatable infrastructure, an allergy to unique snowflakes, a habit of improving the status quo, excellent technical skills and communication skills to match. To be successful in this role you'll need to handle a rapid rate of change with spotless reliability, and you must enjoy planning and executing fast-moving projects involving production systems.

  • Help build the next generation of our production security infrastructure.
  • Develop modules for our configuration management system.
  • Build, scale and optimize critical production systems.
  • Schedule and coordinate maintenance for critical systems.
  • Ensure the security of our critical systems.

Job Qualifications and Professional Skills:
  • 4-7 yrs of experience as Ops Sysadmin.
  • Experience running mission-critical Linux production servers.
  • Knowledge of Linux operating system inside & out.
  • Must be able to write advanced shell scripts.
  • Proficiency in Python or Ruby.
  • Amazon cloud expertise is a required.
  • Ability to monitor and optimize production database servers (primarily MySQL).
  • Ability to carry out monitoring and performance analysis using Nagios.
  • Ability to carry out monitoring and performance analysis using Nagios, Cacti, Munin, Ganglia Hyperic or others.
  • Knowledge of WAN networking technologies, e.g. routing protocols and VPNs.
  • Experience with hosted environment.
  • Experience with cluster or cloud computing.
  • BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other science and engineering fields.
