The ideal candidate will be primary architect of Windows infrastructure, focusing on designing, maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting company servers. This engineer will have additional responsibilities associated with all aspects of IT security, administration and troubleshooting of IT related issues with an emphasis on good communication skills and ability to execute assigned projects to completion.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Responsible for security, reliability and availability of Enterprise Active Directory
  • Install, configure, and secure new and existing Windows 2003/2008 Servers
  • Review event logs for server hardware, software, and security concerns
  • Research, plan, and implement Windows infrastructure upgrades
  • Review and harden server security and apply security patches
  • Manage sites and services, replication, and group policy
  • Manage DNS, DHCP, CA, VPN, File, Print, and other servers
  • Administer Enterprise backup infrastructure
  • Plan Windows infrastructure growth based on future needs
  • Qualified candidate will have good communication skills
  • Qualified candidate will have good project management skills
  • Qualified candidate will be able to work individually or in a team environment
  • 24/7 On-Call Rotation
  • Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug screen
  • Must have authorization to work in the U.S. as defined in the Immigrations Act of 1986
  • Other duties as assigned

INTERACTIONS :
IT/IS staff, management, user community, and vendors.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must pass a ten (10) year background check and five (5) year pre-employment drug test
  • Must have authorization to work in the U.S. as defined in the Immigrations Act of 1986
EDUCATION:
MCSE 2003, MCITP 2008, or equivalent certifications or experience; college degree preferred but not required

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of five years of experience in designing, administering, and/or troubleshooting Windows 2003 or 2008 in a medium to large scale Enterprise environment. Experience with hardening and monitoring windows security.

KNOWLEDGE:
  • Windows 2003, 2008, Active Directory & Roles, Group Policies, DHCP, DNS, Certificate Authority, RRAS, IAS (RADIUS), IIS, DFS, Managing and monitoring Replication, Sites & Services, Print Services, Implementation of Hierarchical Security for Users, Groups, OUs/PKI and Permissions, Manage File Server Resources, Performance Monitoring. Previous migration experience to Windows 2008. Delegation of Control in AD. Windows Firewall and UAC.
  • Prefer experience with VMWare, High Availability (Clustering, NLB, etc), AD Schema, OSSEC, Windows or other scripting, 802.1x/NPS, Enterprise Anti-Virus / Anti-Malware, Microsoft SQL administration, Altiris, SMS/WSUS, Network Access Protection (NAP), Networking knowledge (routing, switching, firewalling), TCP/IP, IPv4 Subnetting, SSL. Knowledge of AAA model.

Standard office environment

Some heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs), computers, servers etc
