Under Medical Director supervision, provides Traditional Chinese Medical (TCM) diagnostic/assessment services, and administers acupuncture and associated oriental medical treatment to patients in The Center for Integrative Medicine (TCFIM). Maintains orderly and clean treatment rooms, monitors supplies and disposes of needles and supplies in accordance with applicable standards of care. Maintains professional conduct and confidentiality, consults with the Medical Director and other IMPaCT members on patient assessment and treatment, contributing recommendations for care as appropriate, and observing patients rights at all times.
Minimum Education: Graduated from a formal full-time acupuncture program that can document at least 1,725 hours of entry-level acupuncture education. Education must be a minimum of 1000 didactic and 500 clinical hours, a 3-year master’s level program or other pre-graduate and/or combined apprenticeship training and education as defined by NCCAOM.
Certification/Registration: Must be a current Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac) in the State of Colorado and certified in acupuncture by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Passed all portions of the NCCAOM examination in acupuncture including: comprehensive written examination in acupuncture and the point location examination
Successful completion of the Clean Needle Technique (CNT) Course approved by the NCCAOM. Must have certification as a L.Ac. (Licensed Acupuncturist) or Dipl.Ac. (Diplomate of Acupuncture)
Minimum Experience: 1 year experience in the practice of acupuncture.
