The Seasonal Sales Associate creates an experience for our customer that delights and inspires. This position assists in executing and supporting all store initiatives that contribute to generating sales.

REPORTS TO: Store Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES: Including, but not limited to:

· Sell, Sell, Sell!

· Provide Sur La Table customers with exemplary service

· Greet customers and engage them in conversation to discover their needs

· Inform customers with accurate product information using features and benefits

· Serve multiple customers at various stages of selling

· Make product recommendations according to customer needs in order to build and close sales

· Recommend alternative purchases if desired product is currently out of stock

· Maintain a working knowledge of available stock both on the floor and in stock room area

· Use all available resources to enhance your own product knowledge and understand company initiatives to become the “Trusted Authority” to customers

· Continuously stock and replenish the selling floor in accordance with visual standards during downtime and when assigned

· Execute merchandise standards including (but not limited to) price changes and floor sets

· Adhere to all Company policies and procedures including pricing, and loss prevention.

· Support store gift registry goals

· Maintain an organized and clean store including (but not limited to) stock room and bathroom during downtime and when assigned

· Protect the assets of the company by ensuring Loss Prevention critical controls are maintained, and communicate any concerns regarding merchandise, or policy violations to management in a timely manner

· Communicate effectively and professionally to customers and employees

· May operate cash register per policy, POS guidelines and directives

Including, but not limited to:

· 1+ year experience selling in a retail and/or merchandise driven environment

· 1+ year experience delivering outstanding customer service

· Some experience with retail POS systems (preferred)

· Available to work a flexible schedule including nights & weekends as business dictates

· Able to stand and/or walk for an extended period of time

· Able to climb ladders and to lift up to 35 pounds on a regular basis
