This position is responsible for the analysis, design, development, implementation, and analysis of Security initial and requalification training programs at Progress Energy's nuclear plants.
This position responsible for the safe coordination and implementation of Nuclear Security Officer initial hiring through job qualification. Responsible to provide leadership to students in context of supervisory administartion and problem resolution for students in respective classes.
Responsible for instruction and student evaluation in the classroom, lab, firing range, and throughout the on the job training and task performance evaluation phases of qualification and requalification.
Deliver Security training in a variety of training settings emphasizing safety, human performance, and procedural compliance. Administer and update the Security Exam Bank and Computer Based Training program to reflect current plant standards and operations experience. Develop new course materials in accordance with the Systematic Approach to Training to include Lesson Plans, Student Handouts, Lab Guides, Range Guides, Examinations, Training Performance Evaluations, and On the Job Training materials as needed to maintain the Security curriculum current. Schedule and coordinate resources and Nuclear Security Officers to ensure efficiency in training time and to minimize impact of Security Operations. Evaluate student and class performance and comprehension.
Provide counseling and remediation as appropriate. Assist in the assessment of student progression towards mastery of required competencies, Obtain and maintain instructor qualifications and proficiency by successfully completing all phases of designated requalification. Solicit and provide feedback on quality of programs and overall effectiveness. Participate in the Nuclear Response Organization in an Emergency Preparedness "on call program". Must be willing to work various shifts to support the training programs, including evenings and weekends.
Up to 2 years of post high school (or equivalent military experience) and 6-8 years experience.
