Job Summary: The University of St. Thomas, Charles Keffer Library on the Minneapolis campus, seeks a Reference Librarian I (Business) to support the educational and research missions of the University by providing research and instruction support in and out of the classroom.
This position is a 12-week temporary assignment beginning in the end of September 2012. This position is not benefit eligible.
This librarian will provide reference services to students, faculty, staff and community members; teach students good research skills while assisting them to find materials; assists faculty in locating materials or information that support both research and teaching; develops, prepares, and teaches individual or small group sessions and workshops about assigned subject areas and research seeking tools; partners with faculty to support academic department needs through the purchase of library resources and selecting and assessing electronic and print materials; tracks departmental expenditures, ensuring that funds are expended appropriately and in a timely manner.

Qualifications: Qualifications: Master's degree in Library Science (MLS or accredited equivalent); and 1 year of relevant experience. A BA/BS plus 7 years of relevant library experience may be substituted for the MLS degree. Academic library experience, specific knowledge of accounting and finance resources and experience with data sources such as Mergent, Bloomberg and Wharton Research Data Services preferred.
A candidate must be able to employ strong interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a user-focused commitment; and maintain effective relationships with diverse constituencies of university - faculty, students and staff - in an environment of rapid technological change.
