Perform Nuclear Medicine diagnostic and theraputic procedures under the direction of the department management and medical direction in accordance with the department, Loyola University Medical Center and regulatory agency regulations, to support patient care and safety.
Position Requirements:Minimum Education:
Required: Associates Degree
Preferred: Bachelors Degree OR equivalent training acquired via work experience or education
Required: Less than one year of previous job-related experience
Preferred: 1-2 years of previous job-related experience
Required: CPR - Basic Life Support
Position Responsibilities: Performs nuclear medicine SPECT, PET, dynamic, and planar imaging procedures on patients according to department protocols. Prepares radiopharmaceuticals for patient injections, performs elution of generator using aseptic techniques and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, department and manufacturer's specifications. Administers radiopharmaceuticals to patients using aseptic techniques and ensuring compliance with both state and federal regulatory guidelines as well as standards of accrediting agencies. Performs quality control procedures to ensure accurate equipment functioning and patient testing. Operates various computers to include data entry, image acquistion, analysis, results reporting, quality control and back-up data. Provides basic patient care to enhance safety and comfort. Practices radiation safety to ensure a safe environment for the patients, visitors and staff.
