Summary of Duties
The COTA is accountable for assisting the occupational therapist in their duties of patient care and documentation of such care.


HIRING COMPETENCIES - skills & experiences the applicant should bring to the job.
a) License: Current Occupational Therapy Assistant license in the state of Oregon.
b) Knowledge of professional responsibilities and medical ethics.
c) Knowledge of Occupational Therapy assessments and treatment skills.
d) Ability to clearly define objectives, delegate responsibilities and create team unity.
e) Knowledge of local, state and federal rules regarding patient treatment and documentation.
f) Current Healthcare Provider CPR preferred upon hire, and required within 6 months of hire.
g) One-year experience in hospital acute care and outpatient preferred.
h) Provides care appropriate to the age of patients served in the job.
i) Utilizes occupational therapy modalities and equipment.
j) History of practicing in accordance with professional licensing laws, and professional practice act.
k) Maintains effective relationships with other healthcare professionals.
l) Personal appearance makes a good first impression.
