To focus on customers, build community within and outside of New Seasons Market, plan and delegate efficiently and effectively, maintain financial success, schedule staff and maintain labor budget, recruit and hire effectively, coach and mentor staff ( including development of assistant manager), review staff performance on a regular basis, foster open communication, address and resolve conflicts, merchandise products (if applicable), demonstrate workplace safety and food safety, maintain work environment (housekeeping). Manage deli and cheese/charcuterie departments. Provide customer service at full-service deli counter; to wrap/serve, slice, weigh, package and price-mark deli department products according to department standards; to stock deli area. Supervise deli staff; ensure highest standards of customer service, product rotated, display cases full and department clean. Prepare performance reviews and initiate corrective action if necessary. Create weekly schedules; ensure adequate coverage of the department. Manage all department functions including, department operations, sales, margin and shrink, merchandising, quality, cost and financial control, ordering, processing invoices, inventory.
Customer service, grocery store deli department, restaurant or similar experience preferred. Minimum 3 years deli or food service management and/or supervisory experience preferred. Food Handler’s Card. Ability to calculate tare weight allowances, verify vendor invoice charges and counts, and complete required records and reports. Ability to communicate effectively with staff and customers. Ability to read and understand written instructions. Be fully knowledgeable and thoroughly familiar with all of the various deli products sold in the department including recommended uses and cooking methods or demonstrate the ability to learn this information within a reasonable amount of time. Be able to perform all duties and responsibilities in an efficient and satisfactory manner that meets or exceeds the standards for productivity, accuracy, cleanliness, harmony and safety established at the staff member’s individual site.
