We are looking to recruit a Commercial & Supply Chain Manager, Contract Hire to act as the commercial interface with external organisations, provide commercial and supply chain advice to internal customers and provide strategic and operational procurement support to the Contract Hire business. To support the Contract Hire business by demonstrating a thorough understanding of the market/customer and internal processeses and be responsible for the contract from a commercial perspective.


Draft, negotiate and manage agreements with customers and suppliers.
Maintain contracts in a commercially viable format.
Deliver procurement programme in line with business timescales
Develop and maintain productive relationships with contract stakeholders for the benefit of continuing quality business.
Manage the relationship effectively with Government Procurement Service.
Manage and develop direct reports.
Manage the function in line with the Group's corporate governance policies, processes and procedures including those relating to Health and Safety.
Prepare and develop commercial responses and pricing strategies for bids and proposals. Structure and negotiate new business deals.
Be the principal point of contact with customers and sub-contractors on the day to day management of existing contracts. Monitor and ensure the successful delivery of business in accordance with the contractual terms.
Prepare and develop commercial risk assessments for bids and proposals .
Lead negotiations on disputes and contractual issues for contract or portfolio of contracts within areas of responsibility.
Guide the business in its understanding of what our contractual commitments are and if current account activities comply.

Qualifications & Requirements

Degree level or equivalent experience
Extensive experience in a Commercial role
Experience of MoD processes
Senior supply chain management experience in a large organisation
Knowledge of Government Procurement Service (process and framework agreements)
Sound understanding of Partnering and Alliancing between Governnment/Agencies/Private industry
Commercial and supply chain background in multi disciplinary environments covering the contract life cycle
Commercial management of high value contracts
Management of commercial and supply chain procedures
Overseeing the implementation of commercial agreements
Evaluation of financial and operational changes
Risk assessment of commercial viability of contracts
Familiar with vehicle and flett management procurement contracts and markets
