As a key member of the Executive Management team, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will report to the CEO and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company. The CFO is responsible for directing the fiscal functions of the corporation in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
The CFO has responsibility for several of the company's core business processes, including Corporate Finance & Accounting, Corporate Compliance, Contracts, Purchasing, Proposals, Pricing and Capture.

A successful candidate will have the following duties:
Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's business support operations.
Develop and manage performance metrics, financial analysis, and tools to help drive decision making.
Oversee all investment and cash flow opportunities.
Analyze cash flow, cost controls, and expenses to guide business leaders
Act as strategic partner to evaluate and advise on long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies/solutions and regulatory action.
Direct the preparation of all financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, tax returns and reports for government regulatory agencies.
Oversee budget preparation and internal audit functions. Meet regularly with department heads to stay informed and offer direction. Continually improve the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting their budgets.
Oversee negotiations, or serve as a member of the negotiation team, for significant client/vendor relationships for the company, including auditors and business partners.
Optimize the handling of bank and deposit relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to ensure financial solvency for the future.
Enhance, develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve its overall operation and effectiveness.
Ensure the integrity of all accounting and financial reporting, budgeting, planning and analytical activities and ensure that the finance and accounting department operates at the highest level, while fostering sound business practices, cost effectiveness, and financial accountability.
Evaluate business operations support structure and teams to plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group and provide individuals with professional and personal growth with emphasis on opportunities (where possible) for individuals.
Minimum Education Required:
MBA or Masters degree (MA/MS) with major coursework in public or business administration, accounting, or the equivalent.
The qualified candidate must have 8-12 years of related experience, preferably with a large accounting firm or in an audit department for a mid-sized company or other professional services or consulting organization.
Experience with a start-up or other high-growth environment highly desired.
Proved expertise in GAAP, FAR, and CAS.
Experience with QuickBooks financial software.
Energetic, forward-thinking and creative with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image;
Sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus;
Well-organized and self-directed;
Excellent communication skills.
