Assists with all institutional activities related to the maintenance of the SunGard Higher Education /Banner Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software. Provides support through report writing, upgrading, troubleshooting and creating forms for each of the Banner systems and databases that interface with Banner.

Essential Job Functions
PL/SQL programming of scripts needed for application maintenance and report writing.

Report writing using Oracle Reports, MS Access, jsp scripting and/or other tools as required. Meet with users to determine reporting needs.

Interacts with users, acting as a liaison between database management group and the functional user group. Help users utilize the software effectively.

Troubleshooting technical issues with shell scripts, Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, PRO*C and PRO*COBOL.

Creates views and forms as needed to support the University communities information access needs.

Performs other related IT duties as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Individuals must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

Knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL with at least 1+ year of Oracle experience.

Thorough knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL syntaxes.

Familiarity with Oracle RDBMS 8.x and 9i with an understanding of the Oracle architecture.

Knowledge of database concepts including entity relationship diagrams, data flows, and data normalization.

Experience with the Linux & UNIX environments and working knowledge of Linux & UNIX tools, including shell scripting and Perl.

Experience with Oracle Developer, developing forms and reports using Forms, Reports, MS Access and jsp scripting.

Excellent problem solving skills, attention to detail, a team player and good communication skills.

Ability to stand and/or sit and continuously perform essential job.
