Primary Responsibilities
  • Supervise 7-11 undergraduate Resident Assistants
  • Coordinate the selection, training, development, and evaluation of student staff
  • Develop an inclusive, academically supportive community of 200-375 students
  • Create intentional efforts to interact with students and provide opportunities for student growth and development
  • Advise Resident Hall Association representatives for hall
  • Serve as a Judicial Officer for housing violations
  • Manage hall facilities, budget, and occupancy
  • Assist staff in assessing student needs and provide educational and social programs to effectively meet those needs
  • Participate in crisis management and emergency response
  • Initiate and maintain positive relationships with students, faculty, staff, family members, and external constituents in a multicultural environment
  • Act as a University spokesperson at campus events
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education Administration, Counseling or related field a plus
  • Experience as a hall supervisor
  • Demonstrated understanding of and strong commitment to the development of students and residence hall communities
  • Ability to show initiative and take on new projects
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated innovative approaches in problem solving
  • Experience with the judicial process
  • Demonstrated experience developing programming for residence hall communities
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated experience advising student organizations or working with academic support initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with multicultural populations and an awareness of issues affecting women and minorities
Compensation: Total anticipated compensation ranging from $21,600 to $24,500, commensurate with experience and education, and includes a furnished campus apartment and meal plan. The University provides an excellent benefits package including retirement, medical and life insurance, paid time off, sick leave, holidays, individual and dependent tuition benefits.
