The Managed Care Coordinator coordinates the initial referral process and provides individualized communication and follow up to case management customers by using effective telephone and customer service skills.
Qualified candidates must have minimum 2 years customer service experience in health care. Experience in negotiating services with Case Managers and managed care companies. Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with patients and families going through difficult situations and to coordinate activities independently and among departments. Ability to communicate effectively with managed care companies and other referral sources. Excellent telephone and written communication skills. Ability to develop VITAS clinical knowledge base. Familiarity with Microsoft Word or comparable programs.
