Position Overview:
The Onsite Concierge offers white glove customer service to our clientele via face-to-face interaction, email and phone at The AI Dupont Hospital for Children. You will provide prompt, courteous and customer-oriented services to patients, visitors and hospital staff. You will make recommendations and offer suggestions, as well as fulfill patient requests to satisfy their needs. This position requires exemplary hospitality skills, knowledge of the local area, and availability to work a flexible schedule. Only part time positions are available.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide uncompromising service to all hospital patients, their visitors and hospital personnel by arranging personal and convenience services including:
o Dry cleaning, gift wrapping, postage & shipping, photocopying, etc.

o Ordering flowers and gifts

o Coordinating services for car wash, detailing and repair using a local provider

o Giving driving directions and printing maps

o Booking local travel services including car and hotel suggestions and reservations

o Providing local box office ticket suggestions and purchases

o Providing local dining suggestions and reservations

o Arranging errand services

o Making appointments with local household service providers including housecleaners, plumbers, contractors, etc.

o Performing general information research

o Making appointments for local pet services

o Making local golf and spa reservations

o Providing local destination information

o Entering all Patient, Visitor and Employee requests into a central database

  • Greet Hospital Visitors and provide visitors with Patient room numbers and directions
  • Identify and provide relevant knowledge and insight to Patients, Visitors and Hospital staff regarding the services that we can offer
  • Provide local errand --running for a variety of services to hospital visitors, patients and employees with use of own personal vehicle.
  • Respond to patient and visitor requests in a professional, courteous and timely manner, without exception.
  • Promote meaningful relationships through engaging in informed conversation with Patients, Visitors and Hospital staff via face to face interaction, phone and email
  • Track accomplishments and challenges, constantly evaluating the service levels and reports to supervisor
  • Able to adapt to schedule changes as needed to ensure appropriate service levels for the client
  • Ability to move, lift, carry and transport up to 30 pounds in connection with errand running activities
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Experience

Highlights basic tenure, knowledge and education required for the role • HS Diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Fluent in Spanish
  • 2 years of customer service experience; prior front desk, concierge, or other hospitality experience preferred
  • Knowledge of MS office, Microsoft Word, Internet searching, and keyboarding
  • Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills as well as the proven ability to provide quality service in a fast-paced environment Candidates must have valid Class D driver's license issued either by Delaware or their state of residency and at least 5 years of driving authority and experience
  • Must own recent model vehicle for errand running; vehicle must be maintained in good working order throughout the period of employment at employee's cost and expense
  • Candidates will be required to provide evidence (prior to hiring and at least annually thereafter during any period of employment) of appropriate levels of insurance including a "for business use" endorsement at candidate's cost and expense
  • Candidate must be able to demonstrate a Safe Driving Record in accordance with Circles standards prior to employment and throughout any period of employment
  • Candidate must be eligible and willing to become and provide Notary services in the state of Delaware
