Job Summary

Instructors who teach workforce continuing education courses should have a combination of higher education academic preparation or specialized higher education training and work experience, with an emphasis on competence gained through work experience. In all cases, instructors must have a special competence in the field in which they teach.

Responsibilities

Provide training and/or consulting to corporate clients as needed.

Assess training needs for clients in conjunction with Corporate College staff.

Customize training content and format to fit client's objectives.

Provide instruction to clients in the areas of soft skills, such as leadership, supervisory skills, diversity, human resource issues, etc.

Deliver training in 1 day to 3 day classroom formats, using relevant training materials such as texts, handouts, class exercises or assessment tools.

Continue to update and revise course content and teaching methodology in order to maintain currency and relevance.

Maintain familiarity with current texts, materials, teaching aids and techniques relative to courses within the discipline and recommend their adoption when appropriate.

Actively seek ways to improve instruction.

Attend scheduled meetings with client and Corporate College as requested including Adjunct Faculty Orientation.

Maintain accurate records, including class schedules, student rosters, 3-day attendance and grade rosters. Strict observance of these procedures is required for on-going consideration for other training assignments.

Other relevant duties maybe required.

Education Requirements

Child Development Instructor
Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Early Childhood or a closely related area preferred. Must have Child Development Associate.(CDA).

Certified Professional Secretary Instructor
Must be CPS or CAP certified by International Association of Administrative Professionals®.

Marketing Instructor
Bachelor's degree in Marketing or a closely related area preferred.

Internet Marketing Instructor
Bachelor's degree in Marketing or a closely related area preferred.

Paralegal Instructor
Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or a closely related area preferred.

Property Manager Instructor
Experience with OneSite. Some college preferred.

Meeting Planning Instructor
Associates or Bachelors degree preferred.

Project Management Instructor
PMP certification preferred.

Child Development Instructor
Three years of experience teaching courses in Child Development or Early Childhood Education at the collegiate level is preferred. Three years experience or more teaching in an early childhood setting.

Certified Professional Secretary Instructor
Three years of experience as a business instructor (office technology, office administration or management) at the collegiate level preferred. Minimum 3 years of experience in the secretarial field will be considered.

Marketing Instructor
Three years of experience teaching courses centered on the functions of Marketing at the collegiate level is preferred. Or, three years experience in the workplace as a Marketing professional.

Internet Marketing Instructor
Three years of experience teaching courses centered on the functions of Internet Marketing at the collegiate level is preferred. Or, three years experience in the workplace as an Internet Marketing professional.

Property Manager Instructor
Experience with OneSite.

NOTE: Part-time experience will be counted as half of full-time experience; for example, two (2) years of part-time experience will equal one (1) year of full-time experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Child Development Instructor
Demonstrated ability to develop and revise curriculum. Ability to communicate with Program Manager to resolve student concerns.

Certified Professional Secretary Instructor
Demonstrated ability to develop and revise curriculum.

Marketing Instructor
Demonstrated ability to develop and revise curriculum.

Internet Marketing Instructor
Demonstrated ability to develop and revise curriculum.
