DUTIES:
As a Training Instructor (Writer), for the Army Management Staff College, you will serve as part of the faculty of the Army Management Staff College (AMSC) and the Civilian Education System (CES). You will perform the following duties:
Designs, develops, revises, and delivers courses for the full range of offerings in the progressive and sequential Civilian Education System. All aspects of education design and delivery at AMSC are planned and executed in accordance with the Army Learning Model (ALM); CES courses range from undergraduate to graduate level education with undergraduate offerings containing social science and leadership elements comparable to graduate level courses.
CES courses are delivered in multiple formats to include: distributed learning, facilitated distributed learning and in residence. CES courses are linked through their curriculum to provide a coherent, career spanning, educational experience for Army Civilian Leaders, requiring Instructor/Writers in CES to be adept at teaching as well as designing integrated courseware at multiple educational levels for a highly diverse audience.
Supports a continuous college research regime consisting of, as a minimum; formative and summative evaluation of lesson, module, course and system content in order to facilitate work force development, achieve return on investment and improve the Continuous Adaptive Learning Model as it applies to Civilian Leader Education.
Maintains professional relationships with senior members of academia, public and private sector officials for purposes of maintaining professional currency and contributing to the continuing development of leader development doctrine and curriculum.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Specialized experience : To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level GS-12 . Specialized experience is defined as: experience in the principles of learning theory, needs assessments, curriculum design, complex leader development principles and instructional course design in resident and distributed learning (dL).
