We’re looking for a super talented Storage Systems Architect/Engineer who’s not afraid to enjoy our free food, ride the Segways in our office, workout with our personal trainer, and take on the responsibility helping to manage and organize the world’s largest database of genetic data. This is a hands-on engineering role, but with a high degree of scope to architect, design, and lead.
A successful candidate will have 7+ years experience in storage system engineering and architecture. Proven experience building scalable, supportable and stable storage environments for HPC systems is a must. Strong system administration skills are required. Need to be able to communicate solutions to non-technical staff and interact with vendors on procurement, product roadmaps, and testing new solutions.
Storage/Digital Assets Management in High Performance Computing environments
Understanding of storage hardware concepts (e.g. Enclosures, Drives, RAID etc.)
Distributed/clustered filesystems: GlusterFS, Ceph, HDFS, RedHat GFS
Storage protocols: NFS, CIFS, iSCSI
Storage Replication, Snapshots, Mirroring, Backups
Transparent disk/filesystem encryption
Linux system administration (RedHat, Ubuntu), especially as it relates to storage systems
Network Appliance systems
Cloud storage: Amazon S3, EBS, Amazon bulk data import
Technical BS/MS degree or equivalent work experience required.
