Preparation of proposals for NASA and NSF grants and contracts including budget preparation, formatting and close coordination of efforts with relevant scientific and administrative staff; project set-up and financial management of scientific grants and contracts; interfacing with SwRI main office in San Antonio, TX, and funding agencies (NASA, NSF, etc.); generate monthly and quarterly NASA 533 financial reports as required on projects; extensive use of SwRI forms for project initiation, funding increments, no-cost extensions, and closeout; understand funding-agency organization and ability to track funding status; generally support financial needs of departments.
Education/Experience:
    Requires an AA degree in Business or Accounting, or relevant area of program support with at least a 3.0 GPA and 10+ years of related work experience. Work experience with government contracts and grants, especially NASA and NSF, is highly desirable; must have Microsoft Office Professional (especially Excel), Acrobat, email and the Internet experience; must be well-organized, detail oriented and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills; knowledge of MS Project and/or Primavera Enterprise is desired; training and/or experience in accounting is preferred.
