Cargill has an exciting opportunity for a
shift Laboratory Technician
at the Dodge City, KS Beef plant location. This position will be responsible for performing micro analysis on finished products and raw ingredients daily. Job responsibilities will include: proper handling of composite Offal and FRB samples testing carcasses during harvest process, making media using proper aseptic techniques, maintaining supplies/chemicals required in the lab, determine lactic acid concentration & caustic %, calcium determination on bone cannon product, and running boneless, MBM, blood, or any other sample requested. Additional duties can include hide analysis, gel bone analysis, thermometer and pH calibrations. Lab technician will perform other duties required when needed. The successful candidate will report to the Laboratory Supervisor. Relocation assistance is not provided for this position.
· High school graduate or equivalent
· Basic computer skills
· Ability to write and read English
· Ability to work 2
shift hours (2pm-10pm) Tuesday through Saturday
· Sunday work required if needed
· General laboratory experience
· Strong background in microbiology and chemistry
