Supervises ACH employees engaged in the storage, preparation, and serving of food to patients, cafeteria, catering and satellite location customers. Responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of assigned food service and storage areas. Performs such administrative tasks as necessary to assure the safe and efficient operation of the Nutritional Services Department. Employs efficient and effective use of all resources to accomplish job according to standard timelines and to meet daily deadlines. Exemplifies ACH standards of behavior and conducts oneself in a professional manner at all times.
Create and maintain an atmosphere of Customer Service that is in keeping with core ACH service standards.
Displays polite, friendly, efficient responsive customer service attitude to client, patients and guests.
Trains and directs staff in customer service and works to install ACH customer service standards.

Trains workers in the performance of their duties and assigns and coordinates work of staff to promote an efficient operation while supervising the preparation and serving of meals.
Inspects kitchen, dining rooms, serving areas, storage areas and all cooking and serving utensils to ensure sanitary standards are met.
Recognizes and adopts activities appropriate to the specific needs of the patient/resident/guest population and demonstrates knowledge of specific issues directly related to the age of the patients.
Maintains compliance with established standards of operations for services especially guidelines for food handling and storage.
Demonstrates the principle of floor leadership in your respective areas including retail, production and patient services. Floor leadership includes being in your area at critical times, being aware of what;s going on in it and giving immediate feedback to your staff.
Perform such administrative tasks as is necessary for the efficient and effective operation of the department. Task may include but are not limited to.
Requisition and inspection of food stuffs, all paper and chemical supplies, equipment to maintain stock levels and ensure standards of quality are met.
Assists in the selection and peer interview process of new staff members.
Implements disciplinary actions when needed per established policy. Completes performance appraisals and scheduled roundings per established policies
Complete any required daily, weekly, quarterly paperwork and reports as needed.
Safety and Sanitation
Supervise staff in the safe handling procedures necessary to properly prep, store and serve perishable food products following ServSafe and HACCP guidelines and regulations.
Follows established proper cleaning procedures, schedules and checks out staff as required. Maintains all areas in a sanitary manner.
Adheres to a safety and sanitation regulations including The Joint Commission, CMS; state, county, and local health departments; OSHA, and ServSafe regulations; and ACH and department policies.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
2 years total experience required
- which includes 2 years of commercial food service managment/supervisory experience
ServSafe Food Safety Manager (Educational Certificate)
- Candidate must obtain within 1 months of hire date or eligibility
Ability to read and interpet procedural documents and write accurate routine reports and correspondence.
Requires managment and leadership skills in addition to good planning and organization skills.
