Assigns diagnostic and procedures codes to multi-specialty physician practice records to include hospital based care in accordance with established procedures and coding guidelines using ICD-9 and CPT-HCPCS coding schemes.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Licensure, Registration, Certifications:
Registered Records Administrator (RRA) or Accredited Records Technician (ART) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) or American Academy of Professional Coders (AACP) preferred.
High School diploma or GED.
Minimum of one year’s experience coding multi-specialty physician practices or no experience required if a graduate of an accredited program in Health Information Management, Bachelors or Associates degree.
Qualifications and Skills:
Must have good communications, human relations and organizational skills.
