The RB Shopper Marketing Manager – Drug Channel is responsible for leading the creation, management, implementation and evaluation of strategic large-scale, insights-driven shopper marketing programs across RB’s focus categories, while managing the execution of key shopper marketing programs for RB Household brand NPDs/BDIs with CVS, Walgreens and Rite Aid. The Manager will work cross-functionally with RB’s Drug Channel Sales and Category Management teams, RB Brand and Trade Marketing teams and agency and vendor partners in order to develop and lead the implementation of shopper solutions that drive brand equity, conversion and category growth.

The Shopper Marketing Manager – Drug Channel is a key member of the RB Drug Channel team and will work across the entire RB Household portfolio of products (Health-Home-Hygiene). The position will require direct interaction with RB senior managers/executives and multiple CVS/Walgreens/Rite Aid Departments and strategic partners to develop strong business alignment, programming and relationships. He/She will work with all RB internal functions to ensure Shopper Marketing programming for the Drug Channel meets stakeholders’ needs and delivers upon brand, category and sales objectives. The Manager also will own the shopper marketing relationship with CVS, Walgreens and Rite Aid.

1) Drug Channel Shopper Marketing Events/Planning

Develop, sell-in and implement insight-driven, shopper marketing strategies and platforms that drive volume and profit and a point of difference for RB and CVS, Walgreens and Rite Aid

Identify and lead shopper marketing opportunities with CVS, Walgreens and Rite Aid by understanding existing and evolving customer strategies and establishing objectives to drive business solutions which deliver key 4P results for RB and Drug Channel customers

2) RB Brand NPD/BDI Execution

Execute superior shopper marketing program initiatives at CVS, Walgreens and Rite Aid against key RB brand NPDs/BDI initiatives

Fully support RB brand NPD/BDI Shopper Marketing strategy development and program sell-in with CVS, Walgreens and Rite Aid Category Managers and associated agency and vendor partners

Optimize shopper marketing promotional vehicles that meet account- and event-specific requirements

3) RB Shopper Category Strategy

Leverage strong shopper and retailer understanding to develop new, out-of-box Drug Channel activation that aligns with RB’s category strategy

Evaluate RB 4P strategy via a shopper lens to create compelling selling stories for launches and customer category growth platforms

Drive category strategic direction and alignment with cross-functional partners through the application of trends, insights and channel, competitive and industry knowledge

4) Customer Relationship

Create and manifest ongoing working relationships with Drug Channel Marketing Departments, Drug Channel Category Managers, Drug Channel Merchandising Departments, Drug Channel Store Operations Teams, Drug Channel strategic partners/vendors, et al.

Drive integration and alignment with RB Drug Channel customer sales/category/brand plans and strategies

Lead marketing efforts for commercial/JBP planning meetings with CVS, Walgreens and Rite Aid to ensure timely delivery of strategies/plans and infusion with annual planning process

5) Program Analysis

Conduct pre-program ROI analysis for all shopper marketing programming

Lead Post-Program Analysis on key RB Drug Channel shopper marketing programs, identifying successes and opportunities to maximize future program results

Key Challenges:
Managing multiple categories / brands in a highly competitive retail environment

Responding quickly to multiple priorities in a fast-paced, lean organization



Educational Background

Degree educated from a US or international recognised university

Professional Experience

5-7 years of sales/marketing experience within CPG industry with at least 3 years in brand/customer/trade/shopper marketing

Prior experience working with CVS, Walgreens and/or Rite Aid preferred, but not essential

Prior agency management experience

Prior analytics/insights experience with ability to synthesize and make strategic recommendations

Prior project management experience – executing a project from start to finish
