After school care for twin 6 year old boys, one typical and one with moderate autism. Duties include pick up from school (car provided) and transport to home or to other after-school activities, including therapy appointments. In addition, the duties would include assisting with homework, supervision of other activities and provision of snacks. Hours are approximately 2:30 to 6:30 Monday through Friday. The child with autism is largely non-verbal. He also requires assistance with some basic life skills. His skill set ranges from those that are age-appropriate to those of a 2 year old. For example, he can not button his pants and requires assistance with toileting, but is absolutely capable of finding video trailers for movies on the iPad. Ideally a sitter would be able to work with him and implement some of the strategies for instruction that he is receiving through the school and private therapy.
