Ensures the highest quality standards are met in clean, orderly, attractive and properly stocked guest rooms and public areas.
Manages Housekeeping Department two days each week on Housekeeping Manager’s scheduled days off and other times when he/she is absent.
Inspects the work of room attendants, housepersons, dorm cleaners and lobby porters to ensure conformance to the Company’s prescribed standards of cleanliness.
Assists the Housekeeping Manager in maintaining quality control in all areas of the Housekeeping Department.
Assists the Housekeeping Manager in the control of stock/inventories of supplies and linens to ensure adequate supply levels are maintained.
May assist in liaising with Central Laundry Manager on linen needs/inventories.
Assists in overseeing the sorting of soiled linen and the receiving of clean linen.
Assists Housekeeping Staff with cleaning and room make up responsibilities.
Assists Housekeeping Manager in investigating complaints regarding housekeeping service and takes corrective action.
Works closely with the Front Office Manager and location maintenance personnel.
Writes work orders for the Maintenance Department.
Assists Housekeeping Manager in organizing and directing the Department training programs in accordance with the Housekeeping Manual.
Enforces and follows all Company policies and regulations.
Adheres to and enforces strong environmental and safety ethics by following the standards set forth in our environmental and safety programs.
Assists other departments or with other job duties as assigned.
The Housekeeping Manager, Asst. Housekeeping Manager, Lead Room Attendant or other housekeeping representative will provide training that will include the review of the Housekeeping Manual and the understanding and training in HOW-WHAT-WHEN-WHY use of approved/authorized detergents, chemicals in the daily cleaning of guest accommodations, bathrooms and public areas.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Must be organized, with an eye for detail.
Must complete mandatory training period after arrival at appointed location.
Commitment to the quality Housekeeping Standards learned during the training period.
Must be able to relate with guests in a courteous and friendly manner.
Must be able to handle guest concerns in a professional and tactful manner.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Prior industrial/commercial housekeeping experience preferred.
Must be friendly, outgoing, enthusiastic and courteous in dealing with guests and co-workers.
1. Guest accommodation and public areas of a historic hotel/motor inn.
2. Job requires constant walking, bending, stretching and moving, including climbing staircases.
3. Job requires working long hours, some evenings, weekends and holidays.
