Under the direct supervision of the President/Chief Executive Officer, and within organizational and departmental policies and procedures, and all applicable state and federal regulations, the incumbent performs the following functions:

Assesses and defines CMC primary and secondary markets based on existing and projected service lines, population and economic factors and all available internal and external sources of information for current and historic healthcare market dynamics and updates as needed for planning. Identifies potential market factors and innovations that could disrupt existing and planned CMC services and assesses CMC’s potential collaboration, acquisition or mitigation based on resources and strategic goals. Oversee marketing and communications. Oversee philanthropy and development. Serve as the champion for CMC’s Pillars of Organizational Success: People; Service; Quality; Finance and Growth. Using the goals of highest satisfaction, works with Quality to incorporate patient satisfaction data results and analysis into the assessment and determination of services for expansion, modification or reduction. Using the goals of lowest cost, works in conjunction with Finance to incorporate current and projected reimbursement under governmental, commercial and other contractual relationships into the assessment and determination of services for expansion, modification or reduction. Works with Quality to assess opportunities, competitive pricing and enhanced margins with improved performance. Using the goals of best outcomes, works in conjunction with Quality, Risk Management, and Chief Medical Officer to incorporate current and projected outcomes data on complications, readmissions, mortality and other adverse incidents into the assessment and determination of services for expansion, modification or reduction. Identifies opportunities for alignment, integration, competition, collaboration and coopetition that include providers, agencies, community groups, and other entities in primary and secondary markets consistent with mission, vision, values and Catholic Ethical and Religious Directives. Serves as a visionary leader by monitoring, interpreting and anticipating changes in healthcare services, finances, and market dynamics and provides information and guidance to CMC leaders in preparing for the future of healthcare reform. Monitors emerging developments in the community that may provide the basis for new service development. Develops marketing strategies to enhance the organization's revenue growth, market share and reputation by promoting CMC’s achievements in delivering exceptional service, high value and exemplary outcomes. Within the context of the CMC Integrated Healthcare Network, works in conjunction with Quality, PPA, Contract Management Information Systems, Finances and Clinical Data Center to analyze data related to costs, quality and processes to evaluate current and projected service lines and service delivery with the goal of identifying opportunities for expansion, modification or reduction of services to meet community needs. Works with the Director of Managed Care/ACO in managed care contract negotiations and development of improvements related to payor initiatives using knowledge of risk contracting and understanding the importance of the relationship of quality, cost risk-bearing, risk-sharing and other alternative payment models. Develops annual strategic plan and multi-year planning framework that serves as a structure for coordinating strategic planning, strategic initiatives, goals and achievements. Provides regular reports to the Strategy Planning Committee of the Board of Directors concerning strategy, marketing, and service changes and annual review of all strategic initiatives, results, market changes and proposed strategic initiatives. Provides information and guidance to CEO and other leadership related to capital projects and service line expansion compliance with state and federal healthcare planning and certificate of need regulations.


Education: • Master’s Degree in Healthcare or Business Administration required. Experience: • 5 years of healthcare or closely related strategic planning experience
