Oracle Database Administrator - Selected candidates will get to be part of an exciting Information Technology team which supports Boeing as an Aerospace Leader. As a member of the integrated Boeing IT team, the new employee will contribute in the design, creation, and maintenance of company database standards for Oracle Strategy, Design & Build that satisfy the functional and operational needs of the customers. Responsibilities include assisting in standards creation and deploying database design & build patterns (both database and platform and ensuring that the products and services can be operationally supported. Candidates will design, build and test delivery systems and components. Tasks may include working with customers to document data flows and other requirements, communicate requirements to service providers, assist with testing and verification, troubleshooting problems, working closely with contacts in both Security and IT Infrastructure, and supporting mitigation of computing security vulnerabilities. Additionally, the tasks may involve Identification, evaluation and documentation computing system requirements, evaluation of product usability, affordability, functionality, security and performance to assess suitability for integration into delivery system environments.
Candidate is required to have exposure to database technologies, and as a plus, experience with basic operational standards for installing and maintaining/patching, establishing and implementing DB monitoring, DB backup/recovery, access management, performance troubleshooting, DB upgrades, DB migrations, test, and validation in a large scale enterprise implementation.
Selected candidates will get to participate in standards development across advanced Oracle capabilities such as multi-node Linux RAC implementation, Golden Gate, RAT, advanced compression, etc. Candidates will participate on teams with architects, technical specialist, and industry experts to establish organizational and company-wide DB standards to deliver more secure, stable, and cost effective DB Service to Boeing Enterprise.
Candidate needs to be dynamic, self-starter, with openness to leverage complexity of large corporation to their benefit New employee will work on database projects with leadership of senior DBAs, will receive mentoring from senior Database Administrator (DBA)s, and will receive formal and on-the-job training in specific database management systems (DBMS).
