DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Houston Public Library seeks an energetic, self motivated, professional, customer service driven Administrative Associate with outstanding organizational and communication skills to perform ongoing and specialized tasks related to the administration of the Neighborhood Library Administration Office. With a high level of professionalism, this individual will provide exceptional customer service to employees and customers by phone, email and in person. Maintain highly confidential files, mailing lists and professional data. Answer routine questions regarding Library policies, procedures and practices. Assist in performing research and compiling date for statistical reports. Compose correspondence, track and maintain data using current version/s of Microsoft Excel, Word and Access. Assist with telephone coverage in all administrative areas. Assist with special projects and performs other duties as assigned. Please attach a Cover Letter and Resume to online application.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Liberal Arts, or a related field.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
No experience is required. Professional administrative experience may be substituted for the above education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
MINIMUM LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
Valid Texas Driver's License and compliance with the City of Houston policy on driving (AP 2-2).

Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are preferred.
