Assistant /Associate Professor in Marriage and Family Therapy/Director of Online Program in Creative Systemic Studies (5329)

The University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM) College of Health and Pharmaceutical Sciences invites applications for a nine-month tenure-track position in the Marriage and Family Therapy Program at the Assistant or Associate Professor level beginning August 2014 or until filled. The successful candidate will be required to be in residence (on campus) at the University of Louisiana at Monroe primarily responsible for serving as Director of the program in the online concentration in Creative Systemic Studies. This will involve coordinating the hiring of all adjunct and/or clinical faculty members required to serve as members or chairs on dissertation committees, and teaching research oriented and systems theory courses. In addition, the candidate will be expected to maintain scholarly activity and perform departmental, college, university, and professional service.

Required Qualifications:
  • A doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or in social science, interdisciplinary studies, or a field directly related to Marriage and Family Therapy
  • Experience and expertise in Cybernetics, Systems Theory, and Systemic Oriented Research
  • Demonstrated record of scholarly productivity in their field appropriate for rank
  • Teaching experience, to include designing and implementing online courses in a university setting as evidenced by course evaluations
  • Experience serving as a doctoral dissertation mentor
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Administrative experience in academia
  • Evidence of a strong research agenda and pursuit of external funding for research
  • AAMFT Clinical Membership
  • AAMFT Approved Supervisor Status, or equivalent
