Job Summary :
Performs analysis, re-analysis and loose sheet analysis of incomplete medical records (all patient types). Reviews and prepares letters for mailing to physicians regarding their incomplete medical records. Monitors assigned physicians regarding chart completion. Trains and assists physicians utilizing “Sovera for HIM”. Performs HIM Technician responsibilities on an as needed basis.

Education/Experience :
Required : Successful completion of a CCHIIM accredited two year Health Information Technician program or equivalent of 2 years of related education and 2 years of medical record analysis/reanalysis experience, PC and Windows experience.

Preferred: 5 years experience of medical record analysis/reanalysis; RHIT or RHIA credential.

Special Skills or Knowledge/Certifications or Licenses :
Must demonstrate an ability to accurately type an average of 40 wpm or enter data at 6000 kph. Must possess general knowledge of record keeping methods, practices and procedures. A working knowledge of medical record indices and computer systems required for the accurate retrieval and location of patient records is highly desirable. A working knowledge of document imaging is highly desirable.
