This position is accountable for providing both technical and project leadership / support within the Lexington manufacturing plant, supporting both manufacturing and quality engineering based projects.
Leads analytical problem solving and develops corrective actions to manufacturing issues both quality and design related. Serves as a technical resource in the implementation of continuous improvement (Schneider Production System principles) and the solution of problems whether manufacturing or quality based.
- Pursuing a BSME or BSEE four-year technical degree
- Possesses strong communication (oral and written) and presentation skills

- DESIRED: Understands the application of CAD and analysis software tools in product development
A. will be involved in analysis and resolution of manufacturing / customer based concerns from a technical engineering support standpoint while interfacing with Continuous engineer and keeping them abreast of issues at hand.
B. supports design changes, new part introductions and part conformance to stated design requirements (FAIRs - First Article Inspection Reports), decisions on conformity of parts, facilitates deviations which are then approved by the continuous engineer…..essentially a supporting engineer led by senior engineers
C. Serves as "link," between Continuous and Manufacturing engineering. Involved in Pilot production runs providing feedback to Project team.
D. Leads team in problem "root cause," determination via testing, part and assembly analysis, and 8D problem solving methodologies.
E. Provides support to manufacturing and quality engineers
F. Individual will be a "doer," someone to be counted upon with enthusiasm for having fun while doing good work.
G. Individual will be an effective "hands on," engineer who is very capable of going to the manufacturing floor, understanding the process, leading teams to find root causes of issues, and leading teams to implement necessary changes to design, tool, and / or process.
H. Individual will work on complex problems in some cases where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
III. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Capable of using good judgment and making sound conclusions based upon data
B. Creates, maintains, and modifies engineering records as required
C. Maintains spreadsheets or databases tracking B.O.M. change reports, PDCR (Product Design Change Request), or temporary deviations
D. Capable of leading and in some cases conducting testing where required, primarily electrical and mechanical endurance
E. Capable of developing testing schedules for annual product audit testing requirements
F. May get involved in 8D / Six Sigma problem solving exercises / projects
G. Creation of standardized work, quality control plans, etc etc etc all to corporate standards while working with manufacturing personnel in development of such.
