Working with the Institute for Information Infrastructure Protection (I3P) Consortium members, takes the lead to develop proposals and secure research funding. Provides the vision and leadership for the research conducted by the I3P. Works closely with the Chair, the Executive Director and operations staff, the Executive Committee and the I3P membership to ensure the research is of the highest quality and integrity, is current with national needs and priorities, and furthers the I3P mission.
Skills & Knowledge:
Substantial working knowledge of information infrastructure protection and cyber security issues. Knowledge of government, academic, and industry activities related to information infrastructure protection. Outstanding leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others. Proven ability to work effectively with leaders in academic, governmental, and private sector organizations. Ability to work with the press and news media. Strong organizational, analytic, and communication skills. Proven ability to establish a collegial and cooperative work environment. Proven ability to work remotely, including consistent availability and reliable access to phone and email communication. Ability and willingness to travel. Knowledge of I3P projects and practices, as well as established relationships with member institutions desirable. Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse community.
Seven years of relevant and appropriate executive management and program administration experience in government, industry, higher education, nonprofit organizations, or public policy. A strong record of experience working with senior leaders at Federal Agencies necessary. Record of, and proven ability to, propose, secure and execute federally funded Research and Development efforts. Experience in an academic setting and in government and/or industry strongly preferred.
Ph.D. in a field related to information technology and cyber security or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
