The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer will ens u r e that suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services. T h i s p o s i t i o n q ualifies suppliers according to company standards and may administer a Certified Supplier Program in receiving inspection to ensure cost effectiveness. Monitors parts from acquisition through the manufacturing cycle, and communicates and resolves supplier-related problems as they occur. Develops and prioritizes an auditing schedule to ensure that designated suppliers are audited on a regular basis to ensure good manufacturing practices (GMP) and quality standards are met. Evaluates suppliers’ internal functions to assess their overall performance and provides feedback in assessment of their operation.

Uses skills as a seasoned experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways. This job is the fully qualified, career-oriented, journey-level position. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel.
BS in Engineering Technology; or at least 5 years of Quality Planning or Quality experience
At least 5 years of Quality Planning or Quality experience
Additional Requirements:
Effective working knowledge of quality tools and concepts such as; APQP, PPAP, MSA (GD&T) and SPC (statistics) manuals and manufacturing process (lean manufacturing).
Effective leadership, analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to think with a broad perspective to analyze particular problems that require creativity and judgment.
Minimum of five (5) years of technical, manufacturing and process knowledge experience.
Minimum of two (2) years of team, project, and/or program leadership experience.
Ability to travel over 25% of the time.
Knowledge and understanding of Quality Standards (ISO 9000:2000, TS 16949, etc.).
Understanding of and experience applying quality concepts and tools ( GR&R, FMEA’s, Control Plans, DOE, Kaizen, Poke Yoke, 6 Sigma tools etc.).

Desired Skills:
Working knowledge of Navistar Truck and Engine Manufacturing operations.
Ability to communicate and team with large groups of people for either internal or external disciplines at all levels of Navistar Corporation and supplier organizations with emphasis on leadership and facilitation’s skills.
Skills to effectively plan organize and administrate office responsibilities with a high customer service focus.
Self-motivated and ability to deal with a constant changing environment and eliminate resistance to change barriers.
Competencies; positive attitude, action oriented, dealing with ambiguity, problem solving and conflict management.
Bilingual – English & Spanish (for SQE position supporting Mexican based facilities).
Certified Quality Engineer a plus
