Provides and assists with Pulmonary Function Laboratory and Pulmonary Rehabilitation services to patients as directed by physicians’ orders. Performs job functions with patients, staff and visitors in such a manner as to build trust and confidence in his/her abilities and those of the department and Elliot Hospital.
Facilitates communication between the Pulmonary Function Laboratory, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Respiratory Care, Medical Staff and all other departments within the hospital. Attends in-service education programs and department meetings as indicated. Demonstrates working knowledge of basic cardiac monitoring and its clinical implications. Demonstrates patient assessment skills (i.e., vital signs, level of consciousness, breath sounds, patient history, etc.) and implements appropriate clinical intervention.
Education: Graduate from a one or two year accredited respiratory care program and passed CRT or RRT. CPFT or RPFT credential preferred.
Experience: One year clinical experience. Trained and competent to perform all necessary procedures on a population of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
Licensure/Certification: National Board of Respiratory Care CRT or RRT, CPFT or RPFT preferred; current State of New Hampshire Respiratory Care Practitioner License. ACLS and BLS certification.
