Directly supervises all completion engineers; division of workload, priorities, career development, formal training, performance evaluations, etc
Reviews and approves all completion engineering work and completion programs, as required, including all completion design changes using the management of change
Ensures implementation of all Statoil completion engineering functional standards and applicable cross functional processes
Establishes standard practices and SOPs for completion engineers within the asset
Liaises with all completion service providers; is responsible individual for contractor selection and service quality management for all completion service providers
Coordinates new technology application and deployment for completion services within the asset
Actively supports the recruiting, hiring, and on-boarding of completion engineers
Leads the oversight of completion data management system
Ensures accuracy and timeliness of internal and external benchmarking of completion performance
Shares accountability for Statoil-operated well delivery, time, cost, quality and safety within the asset
Shares accountability for department systems, processes, and stewardships; business continuity, emergency response, blowout response, incident investigation, capital and expense budget, annual department goals, non-operated joint ventures
Works with completion superintendent to ensure completion design operational feasibility, including safety processes
Works with completion superintendent to ensure completion risks are appropriately managed and mitigated
Participates in well design reviews and risk assessments
Ensures appropriate communication and coordination with asset and appropriate Statoil stakeholders
Ensures appropriate post well analyses are conducted and reviewed for improvement
Ensures data quantity and quality from the completion operation
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering discipline, or equivalent
Minimum 10 years of experience with 3-5 years in completions or combination of drilling and completions
Has worked last 2-3 years with an operator
Previous supervisory experience preferred
Has previous shale completion experience
Has experience writing workover/completion procedures
Strong risk management knowledge
Strong contractor management skills
Demonstrated leadership skills
