Job Summary:
The Hospital Medicine Practice Manager is responsible the day to day operations of the Hospital Medicine Practice (Hospitalists) including various tasks and projects for the department. Manages and directs workload and performance of Patient Care Expeditors and other team members. Responsible for effectively coordinating and oversight of the various needs of the physicians including but not limited to scheduling, billing, data collection, quality and financial tracking and improvement initiatives related to each and resource utilization. Coordinates the development for improved compliance and performance on designated quality metrics. The Manager recruits, hires in collaboration with the Medical Director and oversees the training and orientation for all clinical and clerical staff and provides ongoing supervision and evaluation of clerical support staff. The ongoing supervision and evaluation of clinical staff is shared with the physicians in the practice and Erlanger nursing leadership. Must have basic understanding of budget in order to assist with cost containment and streamline processes. Must demonstrate an ability to organize, prioritize, meet deadlines, execute and follow through with detail orientation. The manager is responsible for developing and maintaining detailed project work plans, projects, schedules and status reports throughout each phase of assigned projects. Ability to provide effective communication and follow through is essential. Facilitates open communication and strong professional relationships with hospitalists team as well as other hospital personnel. Effectively represent the Hospitalist practices with external and internal partners. Assist Medical Director and department in improving relationships with other physicians and subspecialties.

Education:
Require: BS Degree
Preferred: Master?s Degree; specialized courses in computer systems, accounting and business communication.

Experience:
Required: 2-5 years? experience required related to administrative assistance, physician practice management, budget and project coordination. Ability to function in a self directed environment and complete job assignments in a timely manner. Knowledge of organizational functions, policies and regulations.
Preferred: At least two years? healthcare experience.

Department Position Summary:
Responsible for the administrative processes for the Hospitaliats? network of practices within the facility which involves coordination of projects, scheduling, assisting physicians with administrative, billing support, data collection, quality improvement and review. Will coordinate projects and quality improvement process and assist on their execution in a positive and proactive manner with the entire team. Monitors budget variances to stay within budget and productivity assists the physicians and managers with planning, organizing, coordinating and implementing administrative functions and special projects. Coordinates administrative meetings and correspondence using word processing software; possesses excellent telephone skills; and communicates effectively with all types of people and personalities. Excellent computer and Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, Access) required.
