With feedback/support of mentor, Dr. Qizhen Shi, Pre-doctoral Fellow is expected to develop a thesis project and conduct laboratory experiments necessary to execute project. Pre-doctoral Research Fellowship will culminate in successful defense of thesis and subsequent awarding of a doctoral degree. This is a training position, normally in association with a basic science department of the Medical College of Wisconsin.
Required minimum qualifications includes enrollment in a recognized or accredited graduate program, strong attention to detail and analytical ability, effective organizational skills, and ability to carry out experiments and tasked by following established guideline. Candidates must have the educational background to understand and develop proficiency in a variety of laboratory experimental methods.
In this position you will:
Work with Principal Investigator to develop a dissertation project
Learn theory and laboratory methods necessary for execution of dissertation research
Generate clear and complete records of experimental work
Communicate results of research at laboratory meetings
Participate in publication and presentation of research
