Position: PR and Marketing Manager
Position Summary: Responsible for planning, development and implementation of all KidsTLC’s marketing strategies, marketing communications, and public relations activities, both external and internal.
Critical Functions of Position:
Serve as the lead media contact and assist KidsTLC programs in outlining media strategies and developing relationships with area media to ensure successful coverage of issues and programs.
Serve as a lead communicator externally for KidsTLC by participating in meetings and events in the community and in making presentations about KidsTLC to certain groups.
Oversee KidsTLC’s use of technology to communicate about the organization and its programs and services, including development and maintenance of KidsTLC’s website and, use of social media such as Facebook and Twitter, electronic newsletters, video and other multi-media communications.
Oversee development and production of electronic and printed materials to assist the organization and KidsTLC programs in meeting their specific communication needs.
Develop marketing and public relations outreach for new and existing fundraising efforts.
Monitor and report regularly on the PR and marketing efforts and results.
Experience in developing and managing budgets.
Experience writing press releases, pitching and negotiating with media.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, specifically including expertise in AP style.
Strategic thinker who excels at coming up with original ideas and is able to execute.
Ability to proactively identify communications opportunities and develop supporting programs.
Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Experience : This employee must have minimum of 3-5 years experience in marketing, communications or public relations with demonstrated success.
Education : Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations or related field.
Required Skills : Must have excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and be highly proficient in computer skills. The employee must have the ability to express or exchange ideas by means of written and verbal communication with both internal and external customers. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel, Powerpoint and other graphics and/or presentation software.
