This position will coordinate emergency medical services educational systems development within the Office of Emergency Medical Services. Incumbent will be involved with the development of the new Credentialing Information System (CIS) education module. Persons with EMS knowledge/experience preferred. Will develop educational courses for the EMS community. This includes curriculum development and standard setting. Will approve all initial training courses at all EMS levels. Incumbent will approve all recertification courses at the BLS level. Will assist colleges and universities with EMS program accreditation. Will develop initial examinations for two BLS levels and recertification examinations at all levels. Will be responsible for oversight of the squad training officer program. Will provide training for personnel designated as training officers by their squad. This training covers policies and procedures required for recognition of in-squad training. Will serve as an evaluator of new EMS instructors. Will serve on a panel along with RESA and WVU fire service to review new instructors to ensure minimal competency. Incumbent will serve as a liaison to the Atlantic EMS Council and to the national association of state EMS officials. The Atlantic Council in made up from educational staff from eight states and the District of Columbia. Will serve as WV's representative to the national council of training coordinators. Will serve as the primary staff liaison to the EMS curriculum and education committee. Incumbent is a DHHR representative in the state emergency operations center during times of disaster. Other duties, as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Training: Graduation from an regionally accredited four-year college or university.

Substitution: Additional experience as described below may be substituted for the required training on a year-for-year basis.

Experience: Four years full-time, equivalent part-time paid or volunteer experience in a technical or program area that is related to the duty areas described above.
Individual seleted for this position must have or held a paramedic certification with a minimum of four years of field experience. Do not apply if you do not meet this requirement.

Substitution: Post-graduate education in a field related to the technical or program area may be substituted for the required experience on the basis of fifteen semester hours for one year of experience.
