Position Summary:
The IT Support Technician III (Lead) is responsible for testing, configuring, troubleshooting, and repairing of all computers and related peripherals. She/he is responsible for collecting and reporting team metrics to the IT Manager and assisting in the improvement and maintenance of superior team customer service and performance. The Lead Technician supervises daily team performance and provides team direction in IT Manager’s absence. This position is located in Denver, CO, reporting to the IT Manager for Desktop Services.

Essential Job Duties:
  • Install, configure, maintain and repair all computer hardware and related peripherals.
  • Maintain audio/visual equipment and support conference room operation.
  • Distribute, install, maintain, manage and provide guidance on all networked and standalone PC software.
  • Coordinate new installation and upgrade projects across functional areas.
Additional Job Duties (include but are not limited to):
  • Provides Desktop Support team leadership in the absence of the IT Manager.
  • Under general direction, acts as a project leader on most projects, and on the most complex information technology system problems; and works independently as a high-level technical specialist
  • Designs and implements procedures for gathering and maintaining hardware and software inventory data.
  • Perform software audits to assure compliance with Bridgepoint Education policy and Federal Copyright Law.
  • Assist the IT Manager in the development and implementation of desktop standards, security processes and procedures as well as ensuring that developed and published policies and procedures are followed.
  • Research, evaluate, and test new computer products and services.
  • Guides, trains, and evaluates IT Support Services staff in technical and customer service activities.
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced business environment with responsibility for projects from implementation to maintenance.
  • Thorough working knowledge of computer hardware, software and associated operating systems is required.
  • Ability to think critically and provide constructive feedback. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Significant experience with computer based and networked hardware and software systems.
  • Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting, excellent analytical problem solving; understand and follow technical directions.
  • Prior experience supporting a diverse computer environment.
  • Thorough working knowledge of computer hardware, software and associated operating systems is required.
  • Knowledgeable in LAN operations.
  • Prior responsibility for projects from implementation to maintenance.
  • Significant experience with computer based and networked hardware and software systems.
  • Ability to prioritize time-critical activities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong, positive customer service experience.
  • Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting, server configurations, active directory, DHCP, DNS/WINS..
Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in information systems, computer science or related field and 3 years experience; or Associates Degree or Technical Certification and 5 years experience; or 10 years experience only.

Physical Requirements:
The IT Support Technician II is required to perform physical activities on a daily basis as part of the baseline position description. Physical demands on the technician include, but not limited to, lifting various units weighing up to 40 pounds, sitting or standing for long periods, kneeling, and using manual tools.
