This position has a Special Entrance Rate (SER) of $892.00/biweekly.

Function of Work:
To execute and monitor the enterprise systems processes, and set up, adjust and maintain peripheral and auxiliary equipment for the processing of data.
Level of Work:
Close supervision from an Information Technology Operations Shift Supervisor or other higher level Information Technology personnel, and functional supervision from a higher level Information Technology Equipment Operator.
Location of Work:
Information Technology sections of all state agencies.
Differs from Information Technology Equipment Operator 2 by the presence of close supervision and by receiving on-the-job training in operating computer hardware or assisting the network Help Desk Operator.
Examples of Work:
Under immediate and close supervision:
Operates, adjusts and maintains peripheral information technology and auxiliary equipment; monitors and responds to console messages.
Prepares equipment and data for processing operations according to job set-up statements; follows the production schedule; maintains logs of work run; may pull, scratch or add magnetic media to the system; may burst, sort and distribute computer output; may make off-site deliveries.
Notifies supervisor of equipment malfunctions.
As the Network Help Desk Operator:
Acts as the initial contact for all network requests and inquiries.
Implements first level problem determination using procedures that include the routing of problems and inquiries, extracting pertinent information from the user and providing problem resolution using established techniques and procedures.
May control network activity by initializing the network; activating lines, control units and terminals; and providing physical and logical connections to the application programs.
Maintains accurate and complete documentation of all users contacts and subsequent service and resolution of problems and inquiries.
