The Sr. Reliability Engineer at DTZ is responsible for the development, implementation and tracking of reliability and maintenance engineering programs at client sites utilizing industry best practices and internally developed process and procedures. This position is responsible to achieve the objectives of improved asset reliability and reduced overall maintenance costs.

The Senior Engineer-Reliability and Maintenance closely works with site operations, safety, quality and other functional staff to help achieve set objectives.

This position reports to a Senior Reliability Engineering Manager and is located in San Francisco Bay Area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Reliability Engineer includes, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Manage change control
  • Develop major maintenance and capital replacement plans
  • Maximize equipment performance (OEE)
  • Identify and implement best practices
  • Trains others as needed
  • Determine which major systems and components will be maintained on a predictive basis and which will be maintained on an interval-based PM or run-to-failure basis
  • Create risk mitigation strategies for critical assets
  • Participate in facilities condition assessments (or a similar program), resulting in a Facilities Condition Index (or a comparable metric) to enable the development of project plans and maintenance optimization programs
  • Provide guidance for tactical execution of predictive maintenance technologies as appropriate, including but not limited to: Vibration analysis, Infrared thermography, Lube oil analysis Motor circuit analysis – measure data, Ultrasonic testing, Parts or component quality testing, Power quality testing…
  • Help develop and maintain a predictive monitoring database.
  • Help document all procedures and catalog equipment and PM routines into clients CMMS system.
  • Develop and implement PM programs as appropriate.
  • Evaluate current preventive maintenance (PM) program and transition to more effective, robust PM program
  • Help document all procedures and catalog equipment and PM routines into clients CMMS system.
  • Develop appropriate short-term and longer-term maintenance plans based on clients performance requirements and standards and asset criticality.
  • Help prepare documentation to justify capital spending requests based on system performance and lower maintenance life cycle cost.
  • Perform maintenance and life cycle costing analysis.
  • Identify options, prepare analysis, provide expertise and make recommendations relating to new maintenance procedures.
  • Recommend changes in equipment operating procedures, design or configurations.
  • Recommend and implement a proven Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Total Process Maintenance (TPM) or other similar type program designed to efficiently maximize asset performance.
  • Develop and implement an equipment reliability program focused on critical assets.
  • Perform root cause evaluation for underperforming critical systems and failed critical components. Track and prioritize resolution of these failures

Qualifications
  • BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • A minimum of seven years working experience in a similar role in plant engineering, facilities engineering, and/or reliability engineering, preferably within the facilities services industry.
  • Strong working experience in a reliability engineering/maintenance environment.
  • Industry designation preferred, CMRP or similar engineering designation is strongly preferred.
  • Must have multi-site/account experience, ability to identify best practices within industry and a proven ability to apply across multi-site/account scope.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals.
  • Strong knowledge of Integrated Facilities Management metrics, and computer based data measurement, collection, and reporting systems.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and customer service skills, and proven administrative, management, and leadership skills
  • Strong computer and Microsoft office skills.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
