Primary Duties This position manages the HIV AIDS Data System (HADS) for reporting, analysis, evaluation and program planning. The Data Specialists conducts data queries in the system for standard and ad hoc reporting for federal and state funding requirements as well as analyzes data results to determine data quality and appropriate program recommendations. The position is responsible for coordinating and managing all external data inputs into the data system to ensure accuracy and usability as well as cost savings. The Data Specialists coordinates with the Operations and Eligibility Supervisor to interface with DOH IT staff for system maintenance, updates, and changes. Required Qualifications NOTE: Experience may have been gained concurrently. · A Masters degree in Public Health, Health Care Administration, Social Services, Science, or a closely allied field; AND two (2) or more years (full-time equivalency) of professional management or consultative experience in a health services program OR · A Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Care Administration, Social Services, Science, or a closely allied field; AND four (4) or more years (full-time equivalency) of professional management or consultative experience in a health services program. AND · Two (2) or more years (full-time equivalency) of experience monitoring data and using database software programs to extract, analyze and interpret data. · Two (2) or more years (full-time equivalency) of experience with SQL data systems and data queries. · One (1) or years (full-time equivalency) of experience using either SAS or Access for data analysis and ad hoc queries. Desired Qualifications NOTE: Experience may have been gained concurrently.
Experience and knowledge of HIV/AIDS disease, prevention, and treatment.
Experience and knowledge of the Washington State HIV care system. Conditions of Employment · Willing and able to work indoors, at a desk/workstation the majority of the work day, in an open office environment with possible conversation and other noise distractions, with or without an accommodation. · Willing and able to work the core business hours of 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, with a scheduled lunch break. · Willing and able to occasionally work in excess of 40 hours per week and/or to adjust normally scheduled hours to meet program needs and critical deadlines. · Willing and able occasionally travel within Washington State. · Willing and able to work in a stressful environment with multiple priorities and competing deadlines. · Willing and able to have work and have contact with and work with culturally diverse clients and providers which may include those who are angry, distraught, or frustrated. · Willing and able to provide culturally competent services for people living with HIV/AIDS.
