Summary of Position with General Responsibilities:

The Strategic Sourcing Project Manager is responsible for sourcing complex components, assemblies, finished goods, and services for new product development and manufacturing support. This candidate will provide support and customer service to company franchise teams while complying with Davol’s purchasing department and corporate procedures. The ideal candidate for this position will be highly motivated to grow within the organization and be able to thrive in an environment of creativity and accountability that overall improves the service levels to all customers.

This individual will be responsible for sourcing components for use in new product development, tracking, and expediting orders to meet aggressive product launch timelines. In addition, the Strategic Sourcing Project Manager will help maintain and develop new processes within the department to find greater efficiency. This position will act as a Project Manager and lead negotiator for supplier-facing projects.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Sourcing complex/custom components and subassemblies for use in cutting edge medical device products.
  • Managing the component qualification process with strategic suppliers and setting up sustainable supply relationships for transfer to our manufacturing facilities.
  • Management of strategic partnership with OEM finished good suppliers.
  • Identify, Analyze, and Drive major cost improvement projects at both the division and manufacturing plant levels.
  • Represent materials/sourcing on major R&D and new product launch projects across franchises of Davol.
  • Collaborate with various department representatives including sales, marketing, new product development, finance, R&D to partner on all NPD projects, formal bid packages. make vs. buy analyses, and support manufacturing projects.
  • Aid in managing work around all major production facilities within CR Bard.
  • Negotiate and manage several key supplier agreements for CR Bard.
  • Represent department in Sarbanes-Oxley, FDA, Internal, and ISO Audits.

Basic Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s degree in related field, MBA preferred
2-8 years experience in Strategic Sourcing, Operations, and Project Management.
•Experience in Medical Device, Medical, or Pharmaceutical Industry, preferred but not required.
•Must possess leadership qualities as well as ability to influence stakeholders
•Strong analytical, project management, and consulting skills, with the ability to, work effectively, and implement solutions in a cross functional, team environment.
•Must demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
•Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office Applications, ERP, MRP APS system experience is a plus.
•Must be able to travel between to manufacturing facilities and supplier sites when needed. (25% travel).

Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, MBA preferred
2-8 years experience in Strategic Sourcing, Operations, and Project Management.
