This position is located in the Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Mid-Atlantic, Facilities Management & Sustainment Product Line. This vacancy announcement will be used to fill multiple vacancies in Portsmouth, Norfolk and Virginia Beach.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

You must be a US Citizen.

Must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal & Regulatory Guidance.

You must obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.

Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

Pre-employment physical exam is required.

Valid state driver’s license required.

  • Install, repair, troubleshoot, modify, load and test new and existing electrical systems, fixtures, controls, and equipment.
  • Repair existing electrical systems, controls, and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair difficult electrical problems.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of an Electrician without more than normal supervision such as: install, repair, troubleshoot, modify, load and test new and existing electrical systems, fixtures, controls and equipment including secondary distribution lines; troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical systems for commercial, industrial and residential construction; make adjustment and solve electrical problems by using electrical formulas for computing voltages, resistances, amperages, capacitance and frequencies.

Special Requirements

Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
A SECRET security clearance is a requirement of this position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a position offer or removal.
Incumbent is required to wear a uniform.
Weekend/holiday/overtime work is required.

May be required to serve as an on-call duty mechanic on a rotational basis.

Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification

May be designated as ALPHA personnel and required to report for duty or held in a duty status to provide support before, during and/or after special emergency situations.
