DEPARTMENT: Biomedical Informatics SUPERVISOR'S TITLE: System Administrator/Manager, Biomedical Informatics TITLES SUPERVISED: n/a TOTAL NUMBER OF FTEs DIRECTLY SUPERVISED: 0 TOTAL NUMBER OF FTEs INDIRECTLY SUPERVISED: 0 PURPOSE OF POSITION: Develop, modify, implement, and maintain moderately complex system software across a variety of platforms for a Medical Center dedicated to the care of infants, children and adolescents. Provide consultative advice and support to employees.


Managing Oracle/MySQL/PostgreSQL database servers running Linux. Managed load balanced apache http/https application gateway systems. Installation and patch management system to keep all Linux systems updated and compliant with regulatory standards.

Bachelor’s Degree in applicable discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Minimum 4 years’ experience in analyzing, programming, designing, testing, and implementing Linux systems. Must have at least medium-level experience installing and maintaining database servers, Oracle/MySQL/PostgreSQL. Advances knowledge of Operating System - One of (Redhat, CentOS, OEL, Suse). Knowledge of web servers, Apache and Tomcat. Basic experience using a SAN/NAS system.
