L-3 is seeking for a Technical Writer in Camp Lejeune, NC. The primary duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Develop training materials to support new modules of established courses or for additional curriculum.
  • Develop and support job and training aids for standalone use and to accompany classroom instruction.
  • Serve as ISD Team Member and carry out work assignments as directed by the ISD Team Leader. These include but are not limited to reviewing and editing:
o Learning objectives

o Tests

o Curriculum outlines

o Instructor lesson plans/leader guides

o Student materials

o Training aids

  • Review and edit materials to ensure:
o Correct grammar

o Presentation

o Organization

o Clarity

o Conformance to standards

  • Ensure presentation and organization materials conform to standards for readability level, style, and suitability to audience Forward suggestions to ISD Team Members on ways to improve course materials, handouts, and tests.
  • Serve as technical advisor on all written course materials. Work with technical and instructional staff in all areas of course development to ensure continuity of material, consistency of layout, flow of subject matter, and technical accuracy. Develop materials to support instructional procedures or methods such as individual training, group instruction, self-study, lectures, demonstrations, simulation exercises, role-playing, and new technologies.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree and 3 years experience in a related field or 6 years work experience in a related field. A minimum of two years experience developing and editing training materials.

Special Skills or Training

Proficient in the following Microsoft applications: Word, Excel,

PowerPoint, Computer Graphics programs. This position may require Customer/client contact.
