ProEnergy's Professional Services Group provides technical specialists and project management personnel to our power generation, ethanol, refinery and oil and gas industry clients. Our vast network of trained personnel has worked for some of the industry's finest companies around the world.
Our focus is on personnel for contract, temp-to-hire and direct-hire basis, and we are aggressively seeking versatile, focused, and motivated individuals to join our team.
The System Protection Engineer designs control and protection systems; determines protective relay and surge protection requirements; and, determines the specification of relay settings for the transmission, sub transmission and distribution systems. Key responsibilities include:
- Analyze system outages for proper relay and breaker performance. Initiate investigation of questionable protective system performance.
- Design appropriate, cost-effective protection schemes, review schematic drawings, perform power system calculations, and coordination studies, and perform other engineering studies as required.
- Schedule and coordinate activities of purchasing, drafting, construction, operating and for provide cost estimates.
- Provide consulting services to other groups in matters pertaining to system protective device coordination and application. Conduct special studies as required.
Two or more years Experience with symmetrical components and protection devices preferred.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred
Familiarity with transmission and/or distribution system and schematic control diagrams preferred
Ability to handle multiple assignments/projects and prioritize required. Must be proficient in use of computers with strong academic background in power system coursework.
This position will be held in the Midwest.
