Loan Services Business Analyst II

Essential Duties and Responsibilities : (Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time).


1. Assists in managing the development, testing, and implementation of effective systems and

business processes.

2. Maintains knowledge of the systems and business processes for a specific area within Loan

Services and BB&T.

3. Ensures compliance with Line of Business, State and Federal regulatory requirements.

4. Evaluates and provides input into the strategic direction according to the business need.

5. Consults with and translates client needs into solutions, by determining feasibility, developing

design and/or alternatives, resource requirements, and cost/time estimates.

6. Assists in leading multiple projects or business systems independently.

7. Supports the relationships between Loan Services, Lines of Business, and Support

Departments, which may include: Business Loan Administration, Small Business Banking,

Specialized Lending, Direct Retail Lending, Legal, Compliance, Audit, Application Data

Services, Banking Network, Information Technology, BB&T University , Financial

Management, Corporate Banking and Risk Management.

8. Assists in managing problem resolution process.

9. Analyzes problems to assist in developing solutions.

10. Assists in managing the scope of simultaneous projects/systems to accomplish objectives.

11. Identifies and communicates project/system status to ensure project success.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and related training.

2. Three years of banking and/or three years management experience.

3. Thorough knowledge of mainframe and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, Project).

4. Thorough knowledge of processes for a specific area of expertise.

5. Strong analytical ability.

6. Strong cognitive reasoning and organizational skills.

7. Effective verbal and written communication skills.

8. Knowledge of project management concepts or internal or external Project Management Certification.

9. Strong interpersonal skills.

10. Ability to interact and communicate with specific levels within organization.

11. Effective facilitation and presentation skills.

12. Ability to work and make most decisions independently.

13. Ability to travel, occasionally overnight.

2. Previous system/business analyst experience.

3. BB&T Process Master Certification.

4. Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.
