Job Title: Director Revenue Accounting Area of Interest: Accounting/Auditing/Finance

The Director, Revenue Accounting will be a key contributor to the future success of the Company. S/he will be responsible for directing the activities of many of the Company’s financial and operational accounting functions including sales activities through the company’s reservations system, cash and credit card transactions, travel agent and guest refunds, commissions and affiliate payments as well as international billing and currency processing. Accounting skills including detail knowledge of U.S. GAAP are required. Ideal candidate will also have keen analytic, organizational and problem solving skills, which allows for strategic interpretation of financial results. This individual will also be a key contributor to the development of the department by providing a strong professional presence, technical expertise and a business/operational focus. This person will manage a team of 50-55 associates.
Leadership of the Company’s (1) reservation-related revenue accounting and processing (2) cash collections and deposits, (3) credit card and payment processing contracts, banking relationships and credit card fees (4) special projects to enhance revenue collection/processing
Provide strategic and tactical direction in the design, development, and implementation of revenue collection, chargeback, refunds and any other credit card/cash receipt processes and enhancements.
Provide strategic and tactical direction in the design, development, and implementation of all refunds, commissions, and payments to airlines, guest hotel, transfer and travel insurance processes and enhancements.
Develop processing scorecard and key metrics/analytics to measure efficiencies and cost effectiveness
Assist in implementing irregular operations impact with guests (ie refunds, future cruise credits, etc.)
Ensure that adequate systems of internal control exist to record financial transactions in a timely and accurate manner. Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Company’s internal control environment to ensure compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.
Assist call center groups and revenue management in developing and implementing systems, procedures and/or controls to improve efficiencies and to safeguard Company assets.
Negotiate multi-currency global credit card and payment processing contracts for CCL
Partners with Financial Planning & Analysis on credit card optimization initiatives to drive cost savings
Update accounting procedures and processes, as necessary, to ensure that adequate accounting records are maintained.
Preparation monthly close journal entries and account reconciliations.
Coordinates and cooperates with the Company’s internal and external auditors and interfaces with project leaders across the Company and Group.
Prepares 1099 filings and manages processing/reporting for abandoned property
Create systems and reporting to support the Company’s strategic and operational models and processes.
Supervision and development of staff to support all departmental functions.
Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Certified Public Accountant with a mix of Big 4 public accounting plus Corporate experience at a company(s) with revenues > $1 billion.
Three-five years of recent revenue/revenue accounting experience.
Ideally, experience in a revenue management/call center environment.
Strong process and project management skills and a proven ability to interact with all levels within an organization.
Previous experience with Oracle Financial Systems, reservation systems and Hyperion Essbase is helpful, but not required.
Superior skills with analytical software, especially Microsoft Excel, and experience with a variety of financial analysis.
Experience supervising large teams.
Both intelligent and practical; possessing the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, team-oriented environment.
